A band, two of whose members hail from Skipton, has had one of its songs premiered by a young film-maker.
Jack King was inspired to make his first music video by the Anthony Sparke song, Tape Worms.
The band, based in London, is made up of drummer Henry White, 23, of Skipton, who runs a production studio in Stoke Newington, bassist Nathan Feddo, 23, also of Skipton, a student at the Guildhall School of Music in London, guitarist Tom Overton, 24, of Ilkley and a former student with Feddo at Ermysted’s Grammar School, Skipton, and keyboard player Glynn Bolter, 23, of Bradford.
Jack, of Saltaire, shot the three-and-a-half-minute movie in Northcliffe Woods, Shipley, and it premiered at Bradford Playhouse.
He self-financed the venture, ploughing all his earnings as a support worker for Ethical Care in Bradford into the project.
The music video is a surreal exploration based on part of the William Burrough’s book, The Ticket That Exploded. It has been posted on the music video channel Vimeo and on YouTube.
Jack said: “I was very inspired by the music – the song has so many layers and depth and is musically very colourful and I tried to capture those elements.
“This was something of a test of my knowledge and skills, like a reality check after making a conscious decision not to go to film school,” said the 24-year-old who hopes to make a career in film and video.
In the audience at the premiere was Anthony Sparke bass player, Nathan Feddo, who said: “It was an incredible job which captured what we were after in the song but he created his own artistic take on it.”
