The Northern Chamber Orchestra makes a welcome return to Skipton tomorrow.
The concert will open with Suppe’s Overture, Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna, followed by Schubert’s Incidental Music to Rosamunde. The orchestra will then be joined by bassoonist Ben Hudson to play the Mozart Bassoon Concerto.
“I really love playing this concerto,” said Ben. “I hope the hall will be filled with young people hearing the bassoon as a solo instrument – really showing off!” The evening ends with Mozart’s jubilant Jupiter Symphony.
The Northern Chamber Orchestra has strong links with Skipton Music Centre and, during January, five NCO players have been working with the centre’s Wind Chamber Ensemble. The concert takes place at Ermysted’s Grammar School at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12 for adults, £8 for students and claimants and free for under-18s. They can be bought on the door or ring 0161 247 2220.
