Theatre group tells epic tale of Everest

A story about the conquest of Mount Everest will be told at the Rainhall Centre in Barnoldswick.

Spike Theatre is about to unveil its 10th original touring show – Top of the World – which tells the story behind one of the greatest achievements of the 20th century, the conquest of Everest.

In 1953, Edmund Hillary and porter Tenzing Norgay began a gruelling and treacherous ascent to conquer the summit of the world’s highest mountain.

Taking inspiration from Hillary and Norgay’s biographies and the Oscar-nominated documentary – The Conquest of Everest – Spike will incorporate projected animation into this epic tale of adventure, bravery and international fame.

Top of the World is recommended for audiences aged seven and over and will be staged at the Rainhall Centre next Sunday, March 7, at 4pm. Tickets cost £6 for adults and £5 for concessions and students. Contact the Rainhall Centre on 01282 818250.
