Professional dance company Ascendance Rep will be performing a new dance piece at Skipton Castle next Saturday August 21.
The company comprises 13 dancers aged between five and 70, who will be dancing to the sounds of international harp guitarist Jason Carter. The piece, funded by Arts Council England, is inspired by Ascendance Rep’s investigation into the castle’s heritage and ambience, following a two-week residency.
“The dancers will interact with more than 900 years of history, exposing audiences to dance and heritage through a creative living experience,” said artistic director Rachel Wesson.
There will be two performances – at 2pm and 3.30pm – and they will be preceded by an open dance workshop at 1pm.
To sign up for the workshop or to buy tickets, visit the website ascendance.org.uk or call 0113 2454693.
