SKIPTON:

Craven Museum is hosting a soccer exhibition. Until September 27, visitors will be able to enjoy football photographs and memorabilia.The exhibition, which is free, covers the history of football from 1909.

SETTLE:

Water is the main focus of The Folly’s current exhibition. It includes photographs by Andy Latham, entitled Landscapes of the Ribble, and a “WaterWorks” selection by members of Settle Photographic Group. The third part of the show is called “Water in North Craven Life, Work and Leisure”.

The exhibition will run until Sunday October 31 and opening times are Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

HORTON-IN-RIBBLESDALE:

The Penyghent Café is hosting an exhibition of local landscape pictures by Bradford photographer Chris Dyson.

The former HGV driver will have around 20 of his pictures on show and for sale, which depict landscapes around the Yorkshire Dales, West Yorkshire and the Settle-Carlisle Railway. The exhibition runs until Saturday September 18.

BARNOLDSWICK:

Steeton Male Voice Choir will give a concert in Holy Trinity Church next Saturday, September 11. The singers will perform show-stoppers, old favourites and solos from 7.30pm. For tickets, contact 01943 602719.

BUCKDEN:

Buckden Art Group is staging its 20th exhibition in the village institute. It can be viewed daily between 10am and 5.30pm until Sunday. Admission is free but donations are invited towards the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

THORNTON-IN-CRAVEN:

Thornton Hall Farm Country Park will host its third “barn boogie” this weekend.

The event, known as Hayfever BB3, will take place on Saturday and the organisers say it will be bigger than previous years. Local band Red Confusion will perform along with Tyro and Vicky and the Big Combo, and there will be a guest appearance by X Factor performer DJ Chicken. GLUSBURN:

Glusburn Theatre School will stage their new show, Honk, at the village institute this weekend.

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling, the classic tale has been transformed into a modern musical comedy. The show, directed by Dev Swan, is full of humour and charm and its message of tolerance is perfect for audiences of all ages.

There will be performances tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets start at £6 and are available from glusburninstitute.org.uk.

* Preparations have started for Glusburn’s 2011 pantomime.

It will be a version of Cinderella, written by Steven Clark and choreographed by Fiona Spencer. A registration day will be held on Sunday September 19 and auditions on Sunday September 26.

SUTTON-IN-CRAVEN:

Bawdy laughs and feuding families are promised by Sutton Amateurs in their latest production.

The will stage Mike Harding’s comedy Fur Coat and No Knickers at the village hall. The rude and raucous Northern comedy focuses on a plain-speaking Lancashire family, which is preparing for the wedding of daughter Deirdre.

It will be performed tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Londis Stores, Main Street, Sutton, or phone 01535 632289.

KELBROOK:

A wide variety of work will be on offer at Kelbrook Arts Market, which will be staged in the village hall on Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

From jewellery to woodcraft, artists and craftmakers will showcase their work, all of which will be for sale at affordable prices. There will also be an arts café serving home-made cakes and snacks.
