The Fake Festivals 2012 Tour will be hitting Skipton next Saturday, July 28.

Taking place at Aireville Park, it will feature performances from acclaimed tributes to Oasis, U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as a showcase of some of the most exciting artists in the region.

Topping the bill will be Oasish, fronted by Paul Higginson, New2, with lead singer Frank Farkas, and Really Hot Chili Peppers, who have performed at more than 500 gigs.

From 12.30pm, festival- goers will have the chance to catch five local support acts who have been handpicked for their talent.

“Fake Festivals is the perfect platform for unsigned artists, as they not only get to showcase their talent in front of a friendly local crowd, but they can also take advantage of the fully- equipped stage that you would find at other festivals such as Leeds and Reading,” said organiser Jez Lee.

“We know how difficult it is to break into the music industry nowadays, so we’re keen to help up and coming local artists get some exposure. Plus, you never know who’ll turn up on our tour. We’ve had professionals from the music industry come along to check out unsigned artists.”

The support artists are pop punk quartet You Had Me At Hello, The Broken Hearts Club Band, Sharp Darts, Roadkill and Control Is Dead Tickets cost £17.50 (£10 for ten to 17-year-olds) from fakefestivals.co.uk, Skipton Tourist Information, Craven Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, Fusion Gamez and Aire Valley Guitars, Keighley.
