Magic Loungeabout celebrates £29,000 Arts Council grant

The Magic Loungeabout festival has secured an Arts Council grant of £29,000.

The funding will allow organisers to offer a wealth of new family-led entertainment when the festival is staged in the grounds of Broughton Hall from Friday, July 27, to Sunday, July 29.

“We are over the moon that the Arts Council have accepted our bid,” said festival founder Simon Adamson. “This adds a totally different dimension to what we already had programmed and I now feel we are offering a dazzling weekend of entertainment for everyone which is unique in the region for an event of our size.”

Each night, Broughton Hall will be illuminated, and with different headliners each night there will be three different light shows. There will also be a magical musical romp through Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland and a cinema experience. Interactive puppets Hodman and Sally will be walking around the site all weekend and Wobulous Discombobulous at the Suitcase Circus will present a line-up of talented performing objects.

Disco band Chic will open the festival while the finale will be performed by the Charlatans.
