A thrilling fundraiser for Skipton Little Theatre
9:53am Friday 27th July 2012 in Leisure
Theatre-goers in Skipton are being given a last chance see Anthony Shaffer’s play, Sleuth.
Skipton Players are to perform the thriller next week ahead of the performance rights being withdrawn for the foreseeable future by the estate of Mr Shaffer.
“It may be quite an historic event,” said Tom Lodge, who plays travel agent Milo Tindle.
His character gets embroiled with a lethal game of cat and mouse with rival Andrew Wyke (Philip Smith).
The thriller – directed by Roxanne Williams – is being staged as an addition to Skipton Players’ planned programme to raise money for the workshop roof appeal at the Little Theatre.
As the Herald revealed earlier in the year, the Players need to raise a five-figure sum to replace the roof, which is currently covered with a giant tarpaulin to keep it watertight.
The play opens at the Little Theatre on Tuesday and runs until next Saturday, August 4, with curtains up at 7.30pm. For tickets, call 07527 141176 or email email@example.com
