Beacons Festival to take place at Carleton

Organisers of the three-day Beacons Festival will be hoping for good weather.

Last year’s inaugural event had to be called off due to flooding at the site – Heslaker Farm, Carleton – and on the surrounding roads.

Now the organisers hope everything will go to plan when this year’s festival is staged at nearby Funkirk Farm from next Friday, August 17, to Sunday, August 19.

Headline acts include Toots And The Maytals, who are regarded as legends in the world of reggae, ska and roots music, and Mercury Prize-nominated Ghostpoet.

Away from the music stage, there will be “guerrilla theatrics, superior cuisine, leftfield party spaces and roaming performances”.
