TWO Craven villages will hold art exhibitions over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

One will take place in Kelbrook Village Hall from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Monday and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday.

Josephine Robinson, one of the organisers, said: “The exhibition goes from strength to strength with over 300 original art works available to view and buy, drawing artists and customers from a wide area.

“Even though admission is free, last year we were able to donate £550 each to the nominated charities.”

This year all proceeds will go to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Pendleside Hospice.

There will be a raffle for a painting by local artist Ann-Marie Atkinson, who has a passion for animals and has been commissioned to produce many pet portraits, from dogs and cats, to horses and alpacas.

And Buckden Art Group will hold its 24th exhibition in Buckden Village Institute from Saturday to Wednesday.

The exhibition will be open from 11am until 5pm daily and admission is free, with any donations going towards the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.

There will be more than 150 original paintings on view, with a special section for the Flowers of the Dales Festival.

New members wishing to join the group should contact Angela Falshaw on 01756 760259.
