A STORM is brewing in Tosside - courtesy of the Kimber's Men.

The group - described as the finest exponents of sea songs and sea shanties in Britain - will stage its Singing Up a Storm show at the community hall next Sunday, November 23.

It is part of Spot On Lancashire’s rural touring autumn season.

Formed in the summer of 2001, the group comprises Joe Stead, Mike Beeke, Neil Kimber, Gareth Scott and John Bromley , who entertain with close harmonies and a cappella singing.

They also boast a wide selection of instruments, including guitar, banjo, bandolin and whistles.

“We are now well educated in the way of village hall concerts which we really enjoy doing because of the close proximity of the audience, which heightens the performance for both audience and performer alike,” said Joe

Kimber's Men - who recently featured in the BBC documentary Sea Songs and Channel 4's Sunday Brunch- have recorded five CDS and a DVD.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets costing £6 are available from 01729 840272.
