STUDENTS from Giggleswick School took to the stage at the Richard Whiteley Theatre last week.
They gave three performances of Arthur Miller's dark tale A View from the Bridge which confronts the American dream.
Set in 1950s America, Brooklyn longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Italian cousins to the land of freedom. However, when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret – one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.
The main characters were played by Miles Warburton (Eddie Carbone), Sabrina Gilby (Eddie's wife Beatrice) and Ellisia Humberstone (Eddie's niece).
