A NEW work by Skipton-based composer and conductor Toby Wardman will be premiered at St Michael’s Church, Linton, this weekend.
The concert, featuring Norfolk-based choir Libricini will raise money for Project Reverb – a youth charity working in Upper Wharfedale.
The programme will include short pieces by composers from around the world, including Fauré, Schubert, Lauridsen, Saint-Saëns and Arvo Pärt as well as Mr Wardman’s Fragments, which has been specially written for the occasion and sets extracts from Leonardo Da Vinci’s notebooks to music.
Members of the choir will travel from Norwich to Grassington for a weekend of workshops and rehearsals before the concert on Sunday at 4pm.
Choir co-ordinator Carole Wyatt said: “This is our first excursion to the Yorkshire Dales.
"We’re looking forward to singing unique music in the wonderful setting of St Michael’s - and, of course, to enjoying the famous local countryside and hospitality!.”
Admission to the concert is free and refreshments will be available during the interval.
