GRASSINGTON Players' spring offering will appease their audience’s voracious appetite for comedy with a double bill of one act plays.
Running from next Thursday to next Saturday, the shows will provide a welcome antidote to election fervour with the cast working hard to win your vote.
Likened to a modern-day Blithe Spirit, the first play is Listen by Clive Read. Recently deceased, Viv attempts to communicate with her living relatives in an attempt to bring her murderers to justice.
After the interval, the cast will perform The Luvvies by Lynn Britney. As the title suggests, this play celebrates the typical characters of the "am dram"world, in this case Horbridge Amateur Dramatic Society, on the night of their annual quiz.
Seasoned director Bev Cuerden has steered the cast and team of both plays, with the welcome return of some former members and some new recruits.
Performances will take place in the Octagon Theatre of Grassington Town Hall, with doors opening at 6.30pm for pre-show drinks before the curtain rises at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from Grassington Hub on 01756 752222, and cost £6 if purchased before Wednesday or £8 thereafter and on the door.
