Cinderella

Muni, Colne

BACK for his 20th consecutive year at Colne and his 18th consecutive year as producer, George Critchley brings the magic of Cinderella to The Muni.

Following a successful run in Cannock and Oswaldtwistle, this talented cast produce a fantastic family show for young and old.

One of the stars of the show is, as always, Keith de Winter as the ugly sister Conchita. A firm favourite every year, he is ably supported by Darren John Langford as the ugly sister Juanita. They obviously enjoy performing together and the laughs come thick and fast with a few jokes just for the older audience thrown in for good measure.

Fairy godmother is played by Jodie Hamblet who has appeared in Life on Mars and DCI Banks to name a few and her experience is obvious with a faultless performance and great singing voice.

However, it would be unfair to single out any particular cast member for praise as they were all fantastic and the vocal performances from the cast were the best heard at the Muni in years.

Buttons was played for one-night only by the ever-reliable Karl Greenwood with a great performance. He has experience of the role in Cannock and Oswaldtwistle, but George Critchley will be taking over for the remaining performances.

Lady Morticia Tremayne played by Helen Peters in good old-fashioned panto style has the crowd booing and hissing and Prince Charming is played by Sam Pope who has a wealth of theatre experience.

Dandini is played by Issy Pardoe and Huntsman is played by Anna Knowles. Both are only 21 but are sure to have great careers in theatre ahead of them.

The pantomime runs until Saturday.
