MULTI-award winning Worklight Theatre will present its new show, Labels, at Giggleswick School's Richard Whiteley Theatre on Monday.

It tells the true story of writer/performer Joe Sellman-Leava growing up as mixed race in 1990s south west England. It combines historical and political narratives (Idi Amin's expulsion of Asians from Uganda and the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean), with funny and moving personal stories, to examine our use of words for one another.

An honest story about mixed heritage and immigration, Labels won both a Scotsman Fringe First Award and Holden Street Theatres’ Edinburgh Award, and was shortlisted for the Amnesty International’s Freedom of Expression Award.

After the Giggleswick performance, Worklight will embark on a run of performances in Australia and then in London.
