THERE’S no sleep this winter for members of Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company.

The group is rehearsing 1950s musical Pajama Game which is set during an industrial dispute at an American clothing factory.

However, it’s not all strikes and grievances for Sleep Tite's union convenor and the new supervisor, who fall in love despite their differences.

The light-hearted, tune-filled Broadway show became a film hit with Doris Day and original members of the stage cast.

Pajama Game includes classic songs such as Once A Year Day, Steam Hit and Hernando’s Hideaway.

Rehearsals for the show began last week at the theatre company’s green hut behind Londis Stores in Main Street, Sutton.

All adults and teenagers aged 16 and over are welcome to join the cast, and producers Doreen Smith and Bryan Blackie are particularly looking for men to join the chorus or play minor roles.

Chorus rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, and the show will be performed at Sutton Village Hall on April 13 to 16.

Anyone interested in taking part should contact secretary Katrina Knights by emailing kmknights@blueyonder.co.uk or calling 01535 219705.
