TRIBUTE acts from all around the UK will flock to West Craven this weekend for the first ever Earby Field Fest.

Earby Field Fest 2016 is set to be held from noon on Saturday at the town's Bailey Street field.

"Since we've announced it's taking place, it's been really crazy," said organiser Alex Taylor. "The interest in it has been amazing.

"We've got over 20 tribute acts coming from all over the UK," added Alex, who will be performing a tribute to Gary Barlow.

"I'm a full-time tribute to Gary Barlow. I perform all around the world as him.

"I've been on stage and performing since I left school 17 years ago, and the last seven years I've been a tribute to Gary Barlow," added Alex, who is former student at West Craven High School

Alex, who grew up in Earby and came back to live in the town five years ago, said: "Skipton has the Fake Festival and Colne has the Blues Festival. Earby is the second cousin. Nothing happens in Earby and we are left to our own devices.

"We recently flooded quite badly, and the town really came together. What I'd like to do with the Earby Field Fest is to make it a real community event."

He has lined up more than 20 acts - which include tributes to Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson - and all have agreed to perform for free.

Alex said: "We keep in touch and help each other out because you never know what's around the corner."

Tickets cost £7.50 for adults, £5 for under 18s and £20 for a family pack. All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
