THE Oldham Tinkers will headline at the First Sunday Folk at Settle's Victoria Hall this weekend.
John Howarth and brothers Larry and Gerry Kearns will entertain with a selection of music gleaned mainly from their own childhoods, along with narrative songs, music hall songs, dialect songs and poetry and pub songs.
They mostly sing of Oldham, past and present, but are also influenced by the great Northern dialect poets Edwin Waugh and Sammy Laycock, and more recently, by the late Cliff Gerrard from St Helen's and Rochdale's Harvey Kershaw.
Sunday's gig will start at 7.30pm and will be introduced by Mike Harding. Tickets are available from settlevictoriahall.org.uk or call 01729 825718.
