THE Singing Farmers will perform one of their last concerts at Skipton's Mart Theatre on Sunday.

Tony Richards, Ken Jackson, Charles Marwood, Phillip Holden, Lloyd Lockwood and Chris Berry will perform their favourite songs over three-and-a-half hours.

They say this year's concert tour will be their very last.

Since forming in 2004, they have raised more than £100,000 for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, but have decided to call it a day.

Singer organiser Chris Berry said: “It’s been a great run and we’ve played for so many wonderful people, as well as raising funds for a great cause but, while I hope we will still be performing in future, this will be our last tour together.”

Initially the idea was to hold four concerts to raise much-needed funds for RABI. However, they proved so popular they became annual events attracting more than 1,000 people a year.

When they finish this year’s Farewell Tour, they will have held 52 concerts.

Their music includes country, folk, songs from the shows and popular music from the 1950s to 1970s.

The concert will start at 2.30pm and tickets are available from 07855 992834.
