SUTTON-in-Craven's KVU Singers are hosting two concerts featuring a Scottish choir.

It follows a visit to Scotland in 2014 when the KVU Singers performed in Glasgow, Killearn and Stirling as guests of the Strathendrick Singers.

Now the Scottish choir is heading south to enjoy the delights of Yorkshire.

They will give a free concert in All Saints’ Church in Ilkley on Saturday at 8pm and will be joined on stage by the KVU Singers for a second concert at Christ Church, Skipton, on Sunday at 2.30pm.

The programme will include Ken Johnston’s cantata I Landed With Seven Men, made up of five well-known Scots songs recounting the story of the Jacobite rebellion in 1745, and Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man, which is dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis.

For the Skipton concert, there will also be a selection of traditional Scottish songs as well as a joint performance of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and free for under 16s. They are available from KVU choir members, on the door or by telephoning 01515 637425 or 653917.
