THE Mavron Quartet will perform at Bolton Abbey Priory Church on Friday.

And its programme will include the world premiere of a new piece by composer Tim Raymond, who is director of music at the Priory.

The quartet - comprising Christiana Mavron, Katy Rowe, Niamh Ferris and Beatrice Newman - will also play works by Mozart, Puccini and Mendelssohn.

Formed in 2002, the quartet is the first Ensemble in Residence at the National Concert Hall of Wales, based in Cardiff, and has performed at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.
