FINAL preparations are underway as Art in the Pen returns to Skipton Auction Mart for its 11th year.

More than 190 artists will transform the cattle pens this weekend into miniature art galleries, from which they will exhibit and sell their work.

A key aspect of the selection process is ensuring a broad range of techniques and mediums are showcased and, as such, work on display will include sculptures, photos, glasswork, textiles, recycled materials, watercolours, prints, wood, metal, jewellery and ceramics.

The event began in 2005 and has grown considerably over the years in both artists exhibiting and visitors attending.

Art in the Pen is open Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.

Entry costs £3, but under-16s get in for free.

There is free parking and an exhibitor brochure will be available.

The café on site will be serving drinks and hot and cold food.

Dogs on leads are welcome.
