YOUNG people aged 16 to 25 are invited to take part in a groundbreaking initiative taking place in Skipton which gives them the chance to learn about playwriting and have their plays produced by professional actors, designers and directors.

The Pentabus Rural Theatre Company will be running free workshops in Skipton and Shropshire, and the young people will write short plays which will be performed by professional actors at Skipton Town Hall in June 2017.

Pentabus has been running young people’s writing workshops in Shropshire since 2013, and in 2014 the writers produced the first ever Young Writer’s Festival.

Many participants from the workshops have gone on to write films and plays.

Workshops start at Skipton Library from 4pm to 6pm and will take place once a month until May.

The sessions after September will be held on Tuesdays and includes the following dates, October 11, November 8, December 13, January 10, February 7, March 7, April 11 and May 9.
