THIS year's gig season launches in style at The Craven Arms, Appletreewick, as lively Yorkshire-based folk rock band Blackstone Edge, make a welcome return to the Cruck Barn stage on Saturday, October 1.

From rousing fiddle driven rock, to traditional and self-penned material, Blackstone Edge deliver music in their own unmistakable style.

Blackstone Edge have previously recorded albums at Fairport Convention's Woodworm Studios.

Special guest for the evening is Joe Kemp. Joe, along with musical partner Tracey, draw on their love of jazz, folk, soul and world music to bring audiences a collection of originals and re-worked favourites.

Their style of music features rich vocal harmonies, flute and syncopated rhythms, a light sense of humour and positive relaxing vibes.

Blackstone Edge band member Jon Kershaw said: "We're delighted to be playing once again in The Craven Arms, Cruck Barn. We've played some great gigs at this brilliant venue in the past, including the wonderful acoustic festival several years ago.

Rob Aynesworth from The Craven Arms said: "We're really excited to have secured Blackstone Edge to launch this year's gig season. This promises to be a fantastic night that will raise the roof."

Tickets cost £7 plus booking fee, and are available via the Craven Arms website at craven-cruckbarn.co.uk or on the door.

The concert starts at 7.30pm.
