AFTER a very successful launch earlier this month, Skipton Film Club will present director Michael Moore's latest documentary film Where to Invade Next.

The film will be screened at 5.15pm on Sunday, November 6, in the Plaza Cinema, Sackville Street, Skipton.

Moore's previous films have provided scathing and controversial social and political issues - 9/11 in Fahrenheit 9/11, gun control in Bowling for Columbine and American health care in Sicko.

Left wing, opinionated and often hilarious when making serious points, Moore's films have sparked debate and occasionally political backlash from critics on both sides of the Atlantic.

The idea behind Where to Invade Next is Moore 'invades' several European countries to recapture the positive and progressive social ideas that America ironically once had but has lost in the name of progress.

This includes free universal education (Finland), greater levels of holidays and worker's rights (Italy) and a progressive prison system (Norway).

Members and non-members are welcome to the 5.15pm showing, and a short film will be screened beforehand.

Skipton Film Club membership is available on the door.
