RELATIVELY Speaking, the play that gave Alan Ayckbourn his very first West End hit, will be staged from Tuesday to Saturday, February 25, at Skipton Little Theatre.

Skipton Players will present the play, which will be staged at 7.30pm each night at the theatre on Clifford Street, Skipton.

There are four characters in the production, which has been described as “a play with the brilliantly funny theatrical construct of mistaken identity”.

The balance and interplay between the actors contains fascinating intimations of the middle-class marital angst that was to become this playwright’s speciality.

Skipton Players spokesman Chris Rose said: "English comedy is at last taken out of the drawing room and into the garden, where it reveals what might really happen on the patio.”
