LANGCLIFFE Singers will celebrate the work of French composer Gabriel Fauré in their summer concert on Saturday, July 8.
Fauré was one of the leading French composers of his generation, and many 20th-century composers were influenced by his musical style.
The featured work of this concert will be Fauré's Requiem, for which Langcliffe Singers will be joined by the Skipton Music Centre choir.
This work is the best-known of Fauré's large compositions, with a focus on eternal rest and consolation.
Soloists for this performance will be choir members soprano Sheila Hartley and baritone Richard Williams.
Other works by Fauré to be featured in the programme will be a vocal arrangement of the orchestral favourite Pavane, Cantique de Jean Racine and Messe Basse for ladies' voices.
There will also be solo performances of songs by Fauré, Trenet and Massanet, sung by members of the choir.
The concert at Christ Church, Skipton, which starts at 7.30pm, will be conducted by the choir's musical director Nigel Waugh, with organist Alistair McKenzie.
Tickets costing £10 are available from Cave and Crag, Bentham Post Office, Skipton Camera Centre and on the door.
