SKIPTON Players will perform the play Run for your Wife from Tuesday, August 1, to Saturday, August 5, at Skipton Little Theatre.

The play, written by Ray Cooney, tells the story of John Smith, who seems like an ordinary taxi driver. However, he has been keeping a big secret.

He has a loving wife named Mary in a flat in Wimbledon, and he has another loving wife named Barbara who lives in a different flat only four minutes away in Streatham.

When he heroically attempts to save an old woman from two muggers, he gets bashed on the head and receives attention, not just from the hospital, but from the police.

Two different detectives begin asking too many questions, John's unemployed, moronic friend Stanley Gardner tries to help, and a neighbour, Bobby, who is having painting problems upstairs will not stop calling.

John has to deal with all this and his ‘wives’ begin to get suspicious.

The play will be shown at 7.30pm each night and tickets can be booked online at skiptonlittletheatre.org.uk or by ringing 07527 141176.
