ON The Run will present its award-winning production Tell Me Anything at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 9, in the Richard Whiteley Theatre, Giggleswick.
The show is an honest, coming of age story about performer David Ralfe’s experience of being in a relationship with a girl who had an eating disorder when he was a teenager.
Told in a rich, vivid storytelling style, the show explores the impact mental health conditions have on couples and relationships and also explores the theme of masculinity.
Writer and performer David Ralfe said: “For many years, I’ve lived with a sense of failure because I didn’t save my girlfriend from her illness. At the same time, I’ve asked why I felt I needed to rescue her. I wanted to confront the possibility that it wasn’t just love, that I wanted to be a hero.
“When I was 15, I thought it was men’s job to rescue vulnerable women and that men weren’t allowed to show their own vulnerability of their own. For me, it’s a show about masculinity.”
The show received a four-star review in The Times at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 and won the Suitcase Prize at Ipswich’s Pulse Festival the same year.
Tickets in advance cost £7 and £5 for under 18s and are available online at giggleswick.ticketsolve.com.
