CONTEMPORARY dance is coming to Skipton Town Hall with Just Us Dance Theatre’s performance of It’s Between Us: A Night with Joseph Toonga.

The performance takes place at 7.30pm on Friday, November 10, with tickets available at £12 or £10 for under 18s.

Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in the rhythms and energy of hip hop, as the dancers share experiences of friendship, love and belonging accompanied by original soul-hop music from British R&B singer-lyricist Orin Norbert.

The work is about a journey of struggle of two friends supporting each other and finding a solution, emphasising the strength of friendship and that even when there is distance there can be support.

Artistic director Joseph Toonga said: “'Inspire, nurture, support and always striving to become a positive role model is at the heart of the company's ethos and is the sole reason why 'Just Us' was created.”

Danielle Daglan, programming and venue development manager at Craven District Council, said: “Dance performances are always popular at Skipton Town Hall and we’re thrilled to welcome such an acclaimed production. It's Between Us is made up of a potent mix of dance styles that will appeal to all.”

This performance is presented with support by the Rural Touring Dance Initiative, the National Rural Touring Forum's scheme to make and tour high-quality dance performances to rural areas.

A fully licensed bar is available on the evening. Tickets can be purchased from the box office in the Tourist Information Centre at Skipton Town Hall, which is open 9:30am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

Tickets are also available on 01756 792809 or online at ruralarts.org
