CONONLEY Singers retained the Stuttard Trophy for Mixed Choirs at the Colne Luther Greenwood Music Festival.

They were well received with their performances of The Rhythm of Life from the musical Sweet Charity and the Turtles 1967 hit Happy Together.

Christmas is now in full swing for the Cononley Singers, who performed festive music on Saturday at Victoria Gate in Leeds where the collection was in aid of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

Cononley's annual village Christmas service of readings and music will be held at St John’s Church on Sunday and the Singers will also be doing carol singing outside the New Inn on Wednesday, December 20.

Cononley Singers’ Christmas concerts will this year support Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day, which coincides with the concert dates on Friday, December 15, in Cononley Institute and Saturday, December 16, in Christ Church, Skipton. Both concerts start at 7.30pm, and the Singers will be wearing Christmas jumpers and the audience is invited to do the same.

Tickets for the Cononley Singers’ Christmas concerts are available at Cononley Post Office, from Tony Hamilton on 01535 637405 or by email from John Evans at singerstickets@btinternet.com
