A LANCASTER theatre and cinema is planning a big season of family entertainment.

The Dukes fun-filled production of Aladdin continues until this Saturday and then just a week later, there will be a visit by internationally renowned puppet theatre Little Angel on January 13.

They will present two performances of Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, a classic story with a new spin suitable for anyone aged 7 plus.

In February, there will be three family theatre treats with The Chit Chat Chalk Show on February 10; Penguins on February 13 and 14 and The Owl And The Pussycat on February 24.

The theatre gets busy on May 12 with Me And My Bee and the month ends with More Magic For Kids on May 29.

In addition, every Saturday when there is not a show on The Dukes will offer a family film or activity.

Films lined up for the New Year are Shaun The Sheep: The Movie on January 20; Moomins On The Riviera on January 27 and Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit on February 3.

Tickets for family shows cost £7.20 or a season ticket priced at £21.60 will buy four shows for the price of three.

All tickets for the family films on Saturdays cost £2.50. At 12.30pm, an hour before the screenings, there are free craft activities on offer for those watching the films.

Then in the summer, The Dukes' outdoor walkabout family show will be The Three Musketeers in Williamson Park from July 3 to August 18. A £2 discount is available on bookings made before the end of April.
