PLANNING for the 2018 Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival held in Colne is well under way.

The 2018 Festival will be the second time Colne Town Council has delivered the weekend-long festival following the successful staging in 2017.

Cllr Joe Cooney, chairman of the Blues Working Group, said: “As we get closer to spring, our planning really kicks up a gear. We’ve already got a great lineup in place, featuring some truly amazing acts show casing the very finest in contemporary blues music.

"We have also learned a lot from last year, and we’ve introduced a full weekend ticket which will get you access into all the venues across the entire weekend.

“The number of roadhouses we have will increase this year bringing in more people and expanding the festival.

“We are also working on having an official fringe with a wider range of local musicians, closing Albert Road for the festival – giving it that authentic festival feel.”

There will be the chance for local arts and crafts sellers to have a cut-price market stall to sell their merchandise over the weekend.
