SKIPTON: Michael: The Legacy, a tribute show to Michael Jackson celebrating his life and music, will be performed in The Mart Theatre at 7.30pm both tomorrow and Saturday.

The show stars CJ, one of the most dedicated and well-respected Michael Jackson tribute artists in the world.

Skipton Auction Mart will host The Yorkshire Flea from 9am to 4pm on Sunday, July 2.

Young writers aged 16 to 25 from Pentabus Rural Theatre Company will present eight short plays starting at 7pm on Friday, June 23, in Skipton Town Hall.

The short play performances, which are titled New Futures, and they range in topics from homelessness to office politics to time machines.

Tickets cost £7.50 or £5 for under 25s.

Phoenix Dance Theatre, the UK’s longest standing contemporary dance company outside of London, will perform the show ReFINED at 7.45pm Monday, June 26, in Skipton Town Hall.

ReFINED is a mixed programme packed with solos, duets, trios and quartets plucked from some of Phoenix's most popular recent work.

This programme is curated by the company's artistic director, Sharon Watson, showcasing movements choreographed by a number of leading names from within the industry.

Tickets cost £10 or £8 for under 18s.

New Light: Illuminating artefacts, a free exhibition at Craven Museum in Skipton Town Hall, will open Saturday, June 24, and run until the end of July.

The exhibition is a body of work created by digital artist Paul Miller, exploring themes of interpretation using the museum's diverse collection.

The exhibition will be open every day from 10am to 4pm, except Sundays.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a performance by Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham starting at 8.30pm on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street.

SETTLE: Settle Orchestra ends its 50th anniversary season with two celebratory concerts on Saturday, June 17, at the Richard Whiteley Theatre in Giggleswick and Saturday, June 24, at Christ Church, Skipton.

The programme will range from the first piece ever played by the orchestra to two new commissions written especially for the anniversary by orchestra alumni.

To open the concert, the orchestra will play the Overture to The Caliph of Bagdad, which opened the very first concert in December 1967.

This piece will be conducted by Howard Rogerson, who was conductor of the orchestra for 15 years from 1992 to 2007, and the remainder of the concert will be under the baton of principal conductor Ola Ness.

The Giggleswick concert begins at 7.30pm, and the Skipton concert will start at 2.30pm and be followed by a party to which all audience members are invited.

Tickets cost £12 and will be available from Cave and Crag in Settle, Bentham Post Office and Skipton Camera Centre.

Award-winning artist Tom Palin is displaying his paintings until July 8 in the former BT telephone box that is now the Gallery on the Green in Settle.

English rock band the Strawbs will give an acoustic performance at 8pm on Saturday, June 24, in Settle Victoria Hall.

Doors open at 7.15pm and all tickets cost £18.50.

Moishe's Bagel will perform at 7.30pm on Sunday, June 25, in Settle Victoria Hall.

The five-piece band, made up of an Edinburgh-based Chilean tango singer and four like-minded musicians, will perform klezmer, jazz and Latin music.

Doors open at 6.45pm and all tickets cost £14.

BARNOLDSWICK: Chris Jagger, the younger brother of Mick Jagger, will perform in concert at 11pm on Sunday, June 18, in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, 18-22 Rainhall Road.

BURTON-IN-LONSDALE: The Fitzwilliam Quartet will celebrate the life of Chris Rowland with a special concert at 7pm on Wednesday, July 5, in All Saints Church.

Concert and Cakes was conceived to celebrate the legacy of Dr Chris Rowland, a world-renown violinist who lived in Burton-in-Lonsdale for 20 years. He was a founding member of the Fitzwilliam Quartet.

The Fitzwilliam Quartet will commemorate the tenth anniversary of Chris’s death with the special concert.

The programme will include Beethoven, Bach and other chamber music.

No ticket is required, but there will be a retiring collection to support the church.

CARLETON-IN-CRAVEN: The duo Saloon Drifters are the next act to appear at the Iron Horse Country Music Club in Carleton Social Club on Saturday.

Doors open at 7.15pm and tickets cost £5 on the door.

CONONLEY: Cononley Cinema Club's next film will be A Street Cat Named Bob, which will be screened on Saturday. Doors open at 6.30pm and the film will start at 7pm.

GIGGLESWICK: Following a sell-out opening concert at The Coniston Hotel, the festival continues on 10th June at St Alkelda’s Church in Giggleswick. International opera star Sarah Fox is returning to her roots and bringing with her four celebrated artists who are regular performers at The Royal Opera House and English National Opera. Operatic bass Graeme Danby will be joined by his wife, acclaimed mezzo-soprano, Valerie Reid and tenor Austin Gunn. Together with Sarah and award winning pianist Lydia Newlands they will present a programme of opera classics, songs from the shows and well-loved folk songs.
