SKIPTON: Quantum Theatre will perform the Charles Dickens' classic Great Expectations at 2.30pm on Saturday in Skipton Town Hall.

The play, adapted and directed by Michael Whitmore, aims to deliver high drama, low comedy and grimy double-dealing in a show for all the family.

Skipton Auction Mart will host Art in the Pen on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13.

Art in the Pen, established in Skipton in 2005, sees artists transform cattle pens into galleries from which they sell original works of art.

Art in the Pen will be open from 10am to 5.30pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on the Sunday.

Tickets cost £3 on the door.

New Light: Illuminating artefacts, a free exhibition at Craven Museum in Skipton Town Hall, will run until the end of July.

The exhibition is a body of work created by digital artist Paul Miller, exploring themes of interpretation using the museum's diverse collection.

The exhibition will be open every day from 10am to 4pm, except Sundays.

Artwork by children from Brougham Street Nursery School, Skipton, will be on display in Skipton Town Hall until Saturday.

The exhibition will feature a seven-foot high cardboard sculpture and paintings created by the children as well as photographs taken by the youngsters.

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm today and tomorrow and from 10am to 2pm on the Saturday.

Skipton Players will present the play Run for your Wife from August 1 to 5 at Skipton Little Theatre, on Clifford Street.

The play, written by Ray Cooney, tells the story of John Smith, who seems like an ordinary taxi driver, but he has been keeping a big secret.

He has a loving wife named Mary in a flat in Wimbledon, and he has another loving wife named Barbara who lives in a different flat only four minutes away in Streatham.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a singers night starting at 8.30pm on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street.

There will be a 'summer treat' on Monday, July 31, and every Monday throughout August will be a singers night.

SETTLE: The Spooky Men's Chorale will perform at 8pm tomorrow in Settle Victoria Hall.

The choir is renowned for its combination of Visigothic bravado, absurd humour and eye-moistening tenderness.

Doors open at 7.15pm and tickets cost £18.50 for a stall or £20.50 for a balcony seat.

A Celebration of the Finest of Ireland in an Evening will be held at 7.30pm on Saturday in Settle Victoria Hall.

The event will feature the music of Sean Cannon of the Dubliners, Harriet Earis and Murphy's Marbles.

The Swing Commanders, a versatile group who performs a mix of 1940's classics, boogie-woogie, western swing and 1950’s jump jazz, will perform at 7.30pm on Sunday in Settle Victoria Hall.

The play Ice Baby will be performed at 8pm on Wednesday in Settle Victoria Hall.

Ice Baby, presented by the Ashton Group, is about a 17-year-old mum, her baby, her mates and what happens to them all one freezing winter night when they are visited by goblins.

Following on from his 2010 exhibition, Canadian photographer Jim des Rivières will display a new collection of moth photographs at the Gallery on the Green in Settle until September 18.

The exhibition includes 28 moth species found in the immediate locale of the photographer’s home in Ottawa, Canada.

The exhibition Traces of the Fen, by Margaret Uttley, will be on display at Gavagan Art Gallery in Settle until August 18.

The exhibition, which will feature charcoal drawings and mixed media paintings of the wetlands of Malham Fen, will be open from 11am to 4pm Thursdays to Saturdays in Settle Town Hall.

BARNOLDSWICK: Concert For The Kids will present a performance by the Connie Lush Band at 7.30pm Thursday, July 27, in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, 18-22 Rainhall Road. Tickets cost £12.50 plus a booking fee.

Concert For The Kids will also present a performance by Slack Alice and Friends at 7.30pm on Friday, July 28, in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre.

Slack Alice was formed in 1973 by front man, singer, guitarist and songwriter Cliff Stocker, of Barnoldswick.

Cliff and the band performed for over 40 years until Cliff's untimely death in 2016. The band reformed in February 2017.

BOLTON ABBEY: Following last year’s production of The Wind in the Willows, Gobbledigook Theatre are returning to perform their adaptation of Robin Hood from July 27 to August 6.

Matinee performances for the outdoor performance in the Priory grounds will be at 2pm with evening performances at 6.30pm.

EARBY: A variety of musical acts will perform at this summer's Earby Fieldfest on Sunday, August 13.

The event will be held from noon in the Bailey Street field near Earby Springfield Primary School.

Headliners for the music festival include 2017 Britain's Got Talent finalist Jamie Lee Harrison and two x-Factor participants, Tom Bleasby and Samantha Atkinson.

GIGGLESWICK: The HandleBards, a cycling theatre company, will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream at 6.30pm on Saturday, August 5, in the Giggleswick School Chapel.
