SKIPTON: Cafe Culture, a new collaboration between Skipton Building Society Camerata and Hetties Bistro in Skipton, will hold its first event at 7.30pm next Wednesday at the restaurant on Mill Bridge.

The event will present some great chamber music in an informal and innovative fashion.

The programme next Wednesday will feature Schumann's Frauenliebe und leben, Beethoven's Violin Concerto 4, Messian's Quartet for the end of time and Clara Schumann's Piano trio in G minor.

The evening starts at 7.30pm when guests arrive at Hetties Bistro for a Prosecco reception and a talk about that evening’s music illustrated by musical examples performed by that evening’s musicians.

At 8.15pm guests are invited to enjoy dinner provided by the bistro before the recital begins at 8.45pm and the evening will conclude between 9.30pm and 10pm.

Skipton Auction Mart will host Art in the Pen on Saturday and Sunday.

Art in the Pen was established in Skipton in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Each year, artists transform cattle pens into galleries from which they sell original works of art.

Art in the Pen will be open from 10am to 5.30pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on the Sunday.

Tickets cost £3 on the door.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host singers night every Monday throughout August at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Start time is 8.30pm.

SETTLE: The exhibitions Back in Settle: Pastimes in Past Times and Settle Captured in Wool will be on display at The Folly in Settle until September 24.

The Folly's exhibition 1917: Mud and Misery, which looks at how the lives of the people of North Craven were affected by the Great War in 1917, will be on display until October 29.

Following on from his 2010 exhibition, Canadian photographer Jim des Rivières will display a new collection of moth photographs at the Gallery on the Green in Settle until September 18.

The exhibition includes 28 moth species representing a tiny cross-section of the species found in the immediate locale of the photographer’s home in Ottawa, Canada.

The exhibition Traces of the Fen, by Margaret Uttley, will be on display at Gavagan Art Gallery in Settle until Friday, August 18.

The exhibition, which will feature charcoal drawings and mixed media paintings of the wetlands of Malham Fen, will be from 11am to 4pm Thursdays to Saturdays in Settle Town Hall.

Settle Photographic Group’s annual photo trail will run until Tuesday, August 22.

More than 90 framed photos will be on display in shop windows around Settle, and visitors and locals are invited to search for them.

American singer and songwriter Charlie Roth, who performs a blend of Americana, folk, blues, country and Celtic music, will take the stage at 8pm tonight in Settle Victoria Hall.

The Kendal Mountain Festival is taking its International Film Competition on tour, and there will be screening in Settle Victoria Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday.

Films selected for the screening are will be award-winning films celebrating adventure and the great outdoors.

Doors open at 6.45pm and all tickets costs £10 for adults and £5 for under 18s.

Sheesham and Lotus and Son, a popular old-time roots acts in North America, will perform at 7.30pm on Sunday in Settle Victoria Hall. Doors open at 6.45pm.

The Curious Gin Club will host The World of Gin Festival which will held from noon to 10pm on Saturday, August 19, in Settle Victoria Hall.

The Curious Gin Club's aim is to give people the chance to have fun and discover a variety of premium gins, locally produced here in the UK and from around the world.

The event will feature a selection of over 30 different gins and over 20 different tonics/mixers, and there will be live entertainment.

BARNOLDSWICK: The Gathering MK II, which features the musicians Simon Hough (Big Country), Ken Nicol (Steeleye Span), Matt Pegg (Procol Harum) and Paul Burgess (10cc), will perform a free concert at 7.30pm on Wednesday, August 23, in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, 18-22 Rainhall Road.

As admission is free to this concert, please come early to avoid disappointment.

CARLETON-IN-CRAVEN: Solo country artist Dave Bryan makes his return to the Iron Horse Country Music Club for a concert on Saturday in Carleton Social Club.

Dave is an accomplished performer with a wide range of material and he mixes it with plenty of humour. Doors open at 7.15pm and admission is £5 payable on the door.

EARBY: A variety of musical acts will take the stage for this summer's Earby Fieldfest.

The event will be held from noon on Sunday in the Bailey Street field near Earby Springfield Primary School.

Headliners for the music festival include 2017 Britain's Got Talent finalist Jamie Lee Harrison and two x-Factor participants, Tom Bleasby and Samantha Atkinson.

The music festival will also feature tributes to a host of stars including Amy Winehouse, Adele, Madonna, Elvis, Elton John, Olly Murs, George Michael and Little Mix.
