SKIPTON: Members and supporters of Skipton Little Theatre are reminded the annual general meeting takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 7, in the theatre on Clifford Street.

Skipton Film Club will begin its second season on Sunday at the Plaza Cinema, on Sackville Street.

The film club will screen the 2017 heist film Baby Driver, which tells the story of a tinnitus-afflicted getaway driver who is very attached to his iPod.

The film club night starts at 5.15pm on Sunday with a short film by a film club member.

Members and non members are welcome.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a concert by Hicks and Goulbourn on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Start time is 8.30pm.

SETTLE: The exhibitions Back in Settle: Pastimes in Past Times and Settle Captured in Wool will be on display at The Folly until September 24.

The Folly's exhibition 1917: Mud and Misery, which looks at how the lives of the people of North Craven were affected by the Great War in 1917, will be on display until October 29.

Following on from his 2010 exhibition, Canadian photographer Jim des Rivières will display a new collection of moth photographs at the Gallery on the Green in Settle until September 18.

The exhibition includes 28 moth species representing a tiny cross-section of the species found in the immediate locale of the photographer’s home in Ottawa, Canada.

Settle Folk Gathering will be held from today to Sunday at venues around Settle.

The Folk Gathering, which is in its fourth year, features a series of concerts, workshops and sessions at venues including The Lion, The Royal Oak, The Talbot Arms, the Quaker Meeting House and the Victoria Hall.

Artists performing free concerts in the Victoria Hall include The Wilsons, Duncan McFarlane Acoustic Band, Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith, Bill Lloyd, Chris Sherburn and Denny Bartley, Harp and a Monkey, Hicks and Goulbourn, Zoe Mulford, Mic and Susie Darling and The Giggleswick Temperance Band.

For the concerts there will be limited availability due to the seating capacity of the hall.

Miles and Erica of Indie band The Wonder Stuff, featuring front man Miles Hunt and violinist Erica Nockalls, will perform at 8pm on Thursday, September 7, in Settle Victoria Hall.

The support act will be Will Hunt, a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer.

Doors open at 7.15pm and all tickets cost £14.

The project No Petticoats Here, which remembers First World War women through song, will be performed at 7.30pm on Friday, September 8, in Settle Victoria Hall.

Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Louise Jordan tells the stories of inspirational women who challenged expectations working in a time of conflict.

Doors open at 6.45pm and all tickets cost £10.

BARNOLDSWICK: The Rainhall Centre will hold its first ever Day of Dance from 10am to 8pm this Saturday.

The centre is working with local and national dance companies to bring people a full programme of different ways to experience dance.

There will be children’s and adult ballet classes, theatrical dancing, African dancing and several types of Indian dancing.

There will also be circle dancing to world music, which is similar to village dancing in places such as Greece and Romania.

To round out the day, the centre will host an early evening Latin and Ballroom dancing session.

All sessions will run for approximately 45 minutes and are free, as Pendle Borough Council awarded a grant of £300 to cover the cost of the event. Sessions will be on a first come first serve basis.

Blues Hall of Fame legend Norman Beaker and His Amazing Band will perform in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, on Rainhall Road, at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Though Norman is known primarily as a bluesman, he also performs jazz, rock, pop and R&B. Tickets coats £12.50.

Concert for the Kids will present a concert by Somerset folk singer-songwriter Reg Meuross at 7.30pm on Sunday in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre. Tickets cost £10.

GIGGLESWICK: A screening of Carmen on the Lake will be shown at 7pm on Thursday, September 14, at the Richard Whiteley Theatre.

Carmen on the Lake was recorded live on the floating stage at Lake Constance during the Bregenz Festival in Austria.
