SKIPTON: The next Cafe Culture, a new collaboration between Skipton Building Society Camerata and Hettie's Cafe Bistro in Skipton, will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday.

The event will present chamber music in an informal and innovative fashion and next week's programme features Beethoven's Violin Sonata No 4 in A minor and Prokofiev's Violin Sonata No 1.

The evening starts at 7.30pm when guests arrive at Hettie's for a Prosecco reception and a talk about the evening’s music.

Dinner is at 8.15pm and the recital starts at 8.45pm.

Skipton Film Club will screen its second film of the season, The Handmaiden, on Sunday, October 1, at the Plaza Cinema, on Sackville Street.

The film club night starts at 5.15pm with a short film by a film club member.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a performance by the family band, The Bromleys, on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Start time is 8.30pm.

SETTLE: The exhibitions Back in Settle: Pastimes in Past Times and Settle Captured in Wool will be on display at The Folly until Sunday, September 24.

The Folly's exhibition 1917: Mud and Misery, which looks at how the lives of the people of North Craven were affected by the Great War in 1917, will be on display until October 29.

Following on from his 2010 exhibition, Canadian photographer Jim des Rivières will display a new collection of moth photographs at the Gallery on the Green in Settle until Monday.

The exhibition includes 28 moth species representing a tiny cross-section of the species found in the immediate locale of the photographer’s home in Ottawa, Canada.

The new exhibition ICE-CONIC, a collection of photographic images illustrating ‘ice cream point-of-sale models’ in a variety of different settings and circumstances, will open at the Gallery on the Green on Tuesday.

The exhibition runs until November 25.

Settle Stories' next storytelling event, Dreaming the Night Field: A Legend of Wales, will be held at 3.30pm on Sunday, September 24, at The Joinery in Settle.

Craven Comedy Club will present three stand-up comedy performances at 8pm tonight in Settle Victoria Hall.

The comedians performing on the night include Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Phil Nichol, Dave Thompson, best known for playing Tinky Winky in Teletubbies, and Preston funnyman Tony Vino.

Doors open at 7.15pm and all tickets cost £10.

The band Slack Alice, featuring Des Horsfall, will perform at 8.30pm tomorrow in Settle Victoria Hall.

The band re-formed in February after the death of founding member Cliff Stocker, of Barnoldswick, and the lineup now includes Chris Preston, Des Horsfall, Alan Sagar and Lee Davies.

CONONLEY: The opening film of Cononley Cinema Club's new season will be the World War Two comedy drama Their Finest, which will be screened at 7pm on Sunday in Cononley Village Institute.

GIGGLESWICK: A screening of Carmen on the Lake will be shown at 7pm tonight at the Richard Whiteley Theatre.

Carmen on the Lake was recorded live during the Bregenz Festival in Austria.

GLUSBURN: Glusburn Fallfest will take place from Friday, September 22, to Sunday, September 24, at the Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre.

The Fallfest will begin with the Falling Stars Theatre Company performing 2, a play by Jim Cartwright which is set in a typical Northern pub and explores the lives of people in a working class town.

Performances take place at 7pm on the Friday and 2pm on the Sunday. Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for students.

In addition to a Beer and Gin Festival which will be held all weekend, on Saturday there will be a Bake Off for children and adults, children's activities, street market, refreshments, bar and hog roast. Entry to the Beer and Gin Festival costs £2 and a souvenir festival glass costs £2.

On Saturday, there will also be free live performances by Rock Up and Sing! choir, Appalachian dance, Zumba and the Amore School of Dance.

The headline gala performance at 6pm on the Saturday will be a concert by award-winning singer Beverly Craven, who will perform songs from her new album alongside timeless classics.

Tickets cost £20, or £34 which includes a pre-show two-course meal. Family tickets cost £45, or £88 with the meal.
