The highly-acclaimed Doric String Quartet will open the 2017/18 Skipton Music season with a performance in Skipton Town Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The quartet, which features Alex Redington and Jonathan Stone on violin, Hélène Clément on viola and John Myerscough on cello, will perform a programme featuring Mendelssohn's Quartet in E flat, Op. 12, Thomas Ades' The Four Quarters and Haydn's String Quartet Op. 20, No.5.

The quartet Messiaen, featuring Sophie Rosa on violin, Colin Blamey on clarinet, Douglas Badger on cello and Ben Powell on piano, will perform a Cafe Culture session at Hettie’s Cafe Bistro on Wednesday.

Cafe Culture, a collaboration between Skipton Building Society Camerata and Hettie's, will start at 7.30pm with a talk about that evening’s music. A dinner will then be served before the recital begins at 8.45pm.

BARNOLDSWICK: Folk/acoustic duo Gilmore and Roberts will perform tonight in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, on Rainhall Road.
