SKIPTON: Crafts in the Pen, the annual Christmas market and fundraiser for The Mart Theatre, will be held from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, November 18, and Sunday, November 19.

A wide range of craft work including paper crafts, woodwork, metalwork, ceramics, quilting, jewellery, waxwork and handmade Christmas decorations will be on sale. There will also be a Santa's grotto.

Entry costs £5 on the door.

Just Us Dance Theatre will give a performance of It’s Between Us: A Night with Joseph Toonga at 7.30pm tomorrow in Skipton Town Hall.

The dance show will feature the rhythms and energy of hip hop, as the dancers share experiences of friendship, love and belonging accompanied by original soul-hop music from British R&B singer-lyricist Orin Norbert.

Craven Arts is celebrating the holiday season with a Christmas exhibition featuring works by more than 40 local artists.

The free exhibition runs from Saturday to December 23 in the Exhibition Gallery at Skipton Town Hall.

It is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and on Christmas market Sundays.

In addition to the main exhibition, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, Craven Arts members will host a day of free creative displays and small pop-in workshops in the gallery space at Skipton Town Hall.

Then on Sunday six artists will give short talks about their work at the Narrow Boat from 6pm and 8pm.

Skipton man Sam Boatwright will give a talk about his run and cycle ride across America in the summer.

Sam took a month to travel from New York to Los Angeles, running 50 miles one day and riding 150 miles the next.

He will talk about his experience in an event at Skipton Town Hall on Saturday, November 18.

Doors open at 7pm and the talk will start at 7.30pm.

Skipton Camerata will perform at 7.30pm on Friday, November 17, in Skipton Town Hall.

They will play Mozart’s Serenata Notturna and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings along with the world premiere of a new commission from Stephen Bradshaw.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a singers night on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Start time is 8.30pm.

SETTLE: Artists Linda Clemence and Liz Smart will hold their 12th annual art and coffee event at the Friends Meeting House, on Kirkgate.

Original paintings, sketches and cards will be available together with coffee and homemade biscuits.

The event runs from 1pm to 4.30pm today, then from 10am to 4.30pm tomorrow and Saturday.

Indo-jazz fusion band Bollywood Jazz will at 8pm tonight in Settle Victoria Hall.

Other upcoming concerts at Settle Victoria Hall include performances by Tom McConville with Jens Kommnick at 8pm on Saturday at the Rough Island Band at 7.30pm on Tuesday.

A National Theatre Live screening of Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical Follies will take place at 7pm on Thursday, November 16, in Settle Victoria Hall.

Settle Orchestra's autumn concerts will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 18, in Settle Parish Church and at 7.30pm Saturday, November 25, in Christ Church, Skipton.

The programme, conducted by Alexander Webb, will include Mendelssohn's 'Fingal’s Cave Overture' Saint-Saëns' 'Cello concerto No 1' and Beethoven's 'Symphony No 6 (Pastoral Symphony)'.

Settle College will host a concert by local Swing City Big Band on Saturday in the college's main hall.

The 1940s Swing Concert of Remembrance will raise funds for the extracurricular music department at the school.

The concert starts at 8pm and tickets costing £10, £8 concessions are available from Mrs Rushton in the school finance office on a first come first served basis.

The exhibition Ice-Conic, a collection of photographic images by Paul Rogers illustrating ‘ice cream point-of-sale models’ will be on display at the Gallery on the Green until Saturday, November 25.

BARNOLDSWICK: Animals and Friends, a band who features original members of the Animals John Steel and Mickey Gallagher along with their friends Danny Handley and Roberto Ruiz, will perform tonight in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, on Rainhall Road.

Jeramiah Ferrari, a young Manchester band who fuse styles of reggae, rock, ska and punk, will perform then perform at the centre on Sunday, November 19.

GIGGLESWICK: On The Run will present its award-winning production Tell Me Anything at 7.30pm tonight in the Richard Whiteley Theatre.

The show is an honest, coming of age story about performer David Ralfe’s experience of being in a relationship with a girl who had an eating disorder.
