SKIPTON: GTS Performing Arts will present performances of Hansel and Gretel and The Panto at 7.30pm on Friday, December 15, and Saturday, December 16, at Skipton Little Theatre.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets cost £5, payable on the evening of performance.

The pantomime Beauty and the Beast will be staged at The Mart Theatre from Friday, December 15, to Sunday, December 17.

Show times are 7pm on the Friday, and 1pm and 4pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

Skipton Music will present a concert by London-based ensemble Joglaresa at 7.30pm on Tuesday at Skipton Town Hall.

Their work focuses on connecting ancient and traditional music, using their combined experiences of mixed cultural upbringings to create a homogenous sound.

Craven Arts' free Christmas exhibition, featuring works by more than 40 local artists, runs until December 23 in the Exhibition Gallery at Skipton Town Hall.

It is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and on Christmas market Sundays.

Skipton Town Hall will screen two Christmas films, Elf at 2pm on Saturday, December 16, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at 7pm on Saturday, December 23. Tickets cost £5 or £3 for under 18s.

Also on the Saturday, December 23, Quantum Theatre will give a performance of A Christmas Carol at 2:30pm. Tickets cost £7.50.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a party night with Nick Dow and Dave Calvert, who perform a fusion of folk and blues music, on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Start time is 8.30pm.

SETTLE: On Saturday local singing group Octameron will sing in the community carol concert at Settle Parish Church, along with many other musical groups based in the town. The concert starts at 6.30pm.

Octameron will also perform a 45-minute concert of Christmas songs at The Folly in Settle at 2.30pm on Saturday, December 16.

Tickets for the concerts are available from Cave and Crag, Bentham Post Office and Skipton Camera Centre, and on the door.

National Theatre Live: Young Marx will be screened at 7pm tonight in Settle Victoria Hall.

Santa's Christmas Wish, a festive, song-filled, interactive family show particularly suitable for 2 to 7 year olds, will be performed at 4pm tomorrow in Settle Victoria Hall. A greet and treat with Father Christmas will follow the show.

A Celebration of Simon and Garfunkel will also perform a Christmas special concert at 8pm tomorrow in Settle Victoria Hall.

Folk rock musicians The Dylan Project will then perform at 7.30pm on Sunday in Settle Victoria Hall.

The Albion Christmas Band will perform a show featuring seasonal songs, humorous readings and silly dances at 7.30pm on Tuesday in Settle Victoria Hall.

Students of Settle College will perform two Christmas concerts on Monday, December 18, and Tuesday, December 19, in the main school hall.

The concerts will feature musical performances, carol singing, Christmas readings, games and festive fun.

Doors open at 6pm and the concerts start at 6.30pm.

Tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 concessions and include a refreshment and mince pie.

The autumn exhibition Wild Wood will be on display until Saturday, December 23, at Gavagan Art Gallery in Settle Town Hall.

Trees are the subject of the exhibition which features drawings, paintings, original prints and ceramics by various artists.

The exhibition is open from 11am to 4pm Thursdays to Saturdays.

Anyone coming to the Wild Wood exhibition from 11am to 3pm this Saturday can enjoy a festive glass of mulled wine.

A poetry reading titled Trees in Sheep Country, featuring written extracts by Horton-in-Ribblesdale artist and writer Anna Adams, will be read by John Killick from 1.30pm to 2.45pm next Wednesday.
