Cyclists urged to join charity challenge

Cyclists are being urged to take part in a new charity bike ride from Skipton.

The first Design and Manufacture for Disability Yorkshire 100/50 race will include two routes of 100k (62 miles) and 50k (30 miles).

The event, on Saturday June 28, will set off and finish at Skipton and will take in Kirkby Malham, Settle, Stainforth Halton Gill and Grassington.

Martin Brown, from the charity, which raises money for disabled people, said more than 130 cyclists had registered to take part in the event and Skipton Building Society had pledged £1,500 in sponsorship.

"We need more riders and businesses to help make this annual event a success which will help us help more disabled people," he said.

To register on line go to bike-events.com.
