Craven Beer Festival success

The annual Great Craven Beer Festival took place in the Cruck Barn at the Craven Arms, Appletreewick - and it was the War of the Roses with beers from ten Yorkshire breweries competing with ten from Lancashire.

A total of 360 gallons of beer were consumed, with the public voting for their favourite beer.

Yorkshire won with more than twice the overall votes and best beer was Mrs Simpson’s Thriller in Vanilla from the Brown Cow Brewery near Selby, followed by Birdie from the Dark Horse Brewery at Hetton and Golden Goose from Goose Eye Brewery near Keighley.
