An Upper Wharfedale newsagent reached the finals of a prestigious national award.
Douglas McLellan of Kettlewell Village Store, was shortlisted in the Home News Delivered Retailer of the Year category in the NFRN Awards.
Mr McLellan was recognised for his commitment to developing newspaper sales. As well as delivering newspapers locally around the village, he also delivers newspapers and groceries to farmers, holiday lets and campsites.
And, recently, he travelled to the awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London.
“Doug didn’t win the award but he did exceptionally well to reach the final three,” said a NFRN spokesman.
Now into their ninth year, the NFRN Awards are a widely respected industry accolade, which focuses on the news and convenience retailing sector and recognises those who have made a real contribution to its success.
