A primary school has planted new trees in its newly renamed Jubilee Wood.

To mark the end of events marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, friends and parents of Boyle and Petyt Primary School in Beamsley have been sponsoring trees. The trees were planted at the weekend during an open day at the school, and now form part of the school’s new Jubilee Wood.

“Families from the school have sponsored oak, hazel, cherry, silver birch and rowan trees to be planted to make a copse within the existing woodland which has been renamed Jubilee Wood,” said headteacher, Imogen Addy.

“Each tree will be tagged and its position marked on a map which will be kept in school for future generations.”
