A hairy spider has added some extra excitement to maths lessons at a Dales school.
The spider project has involved year three and four children from Boyle and Petyt School, Beamsley, in many different aspects of maths.
They have included measuring, problem solving, data handling and the eight times table.
Class teacher Ruth Jenkinson said: “Our creative curriculum allows us to explore different avenues of learning which inspire and motivate the pupils.”
To complement the initiative, art co-ordinator Debra Petty worked with the children to create their own fabulous eight-legged spider out of scraps of fabric and bin liners.
