A pedestrian suffered a minor injury after a van mounted the pavement in Bentham.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which occurred at the junction of Station Road and Main Street at about 5.15pm last Wednesday.
They say that the 45-year-old male victim was by the Black Bull pub when a white car-derived van, with possibly a set of ladders on its roof, rounded the corner from Main Street into Station Road and mounted the pavement.
The pedestrian had to step out of the way but was caught a glancing blow as the van passed.
“Fortunately he suffered only a very minor injury, but the van drove away along Station Road,” said investigating officer PC Steve O’Brien.
Police are keen to speak to the driver of the white van and any witnesses. Anyone who can help can contact PC O’Brien at Settle Police Office via the non-emergency 101 number.
