Craven campaign to help victims of domestic violence
11:00am Sunday 9th December 2012 in News
Police and agencies in Craven are joining forces to tackle domestic violence, which traditionally increases over the festive period.
Craven Community Safety Partnership has launched a poster campaign, The Twelve Days of Christmas, highlighting helpline phone numbers.
A separate poster spotlights financial abuse, where a person steals from their partner and controls what they spend.
Spokesman Simon Aston said: “It’s vital that victims know where to get help and support. These posters provide that information.”
Victims of domestic abuse can contact the Independent Domestic Abuse Services via idas.org.uk or phone 03000 110 110, and rape victims can contact the Rape Support Line on 0300 111 0777 or in an emergency, 999.
