The ukulele group at Embsay Primary School is hitting the right notes.

Launched by teacher Alison Bell two and a half years ago, it started with eight children, but now has 38 members.

“It is a very popular club and the PTA has raised money to fund ukuleles for our school,” said Miss Bell.

“We have done some small performances but are now due to do a large concert, joining together with the schools in Harrogate on Friday, January 25.

“We are learning four songs to play with the other schools and also have an advanced song for our players that have been playing for a long time.”
